Flipper`s Gourmet Hamburgers in Oakland

Asked to make a to go order then left after being ignored for a long time. It wasn't busy

Overpriced. After tax and tip my bill was $17.00 and some change. All I ordered was a burger and fries. The quality of the food was not in alignment with the price. I would rather eat at In N Out for a lot less. I will not eat here again.

Terrible service. My friend and I sat outside and NOT ONCE were we checked on. I had to keep getting up to make sure the waitress brought us water! I will NEVER eat here again.I tried the spicy chicken sandwhich , which the menu lists as a fried CHICKEN BREAST... Its literally a big minced chicken patty..like a chicken nugget! I sent it back for a katsu fish sandwhich..also terrible! The waitress told it was cod and it was definitely a thinner, dryer fish..i think it was tilapia 😖. It was over cooked and the batter was not sticking to the fish and tasted like tequila lime.They will never get another dollar of my money

Great little place to have a beer and a burger. The impossible burger is why I come here and good service.Update: The last couple of times the service has been atrocious. The waitress working there genuinely hates being there.

Some other reviewers have called this a "basic" burger joint and dissed the service. Well, the menu includes Korean dishes to reflect the owners heritage and a variety of semi-complex salad offerings as well. Not to mention, the selection of burgers is more involved than plain, cheese, or bacon. The staff are always friendly and helpful, although sometimes when they're really busy, they do strain a bit. However, even then, the good remains consistent. Good grub!

Waited 20 minutes with no service. Two tables sat after us and their orders were taken before ours. Two waiters walked past us many times and said nothing.

Good food, lots of choices. You can be healthy if you'd like. The food is quality. The waitress hovered a bit too much for my liking though.

Probably 10 years since I went to this Flipper's and it looked the same, so a bit worn down, but clean and turning divey in an ok way. The burgers were nice and juicy, the way I like them and portions huge. We got the large steak fries and that was more than enough for 2 to share. The strawberry shake we got came in the metal blender cup with plenty of extra servings left in it. Price was reasonable and fair... coming from the city I'm used to paying a little bit more. Was there on a weekday late afternoon so less busy and service was decent. They serve the Impossible Burger here, but I can't bring myself to choosing that when all those Angus beef options are staring right at me off the menu.

Nice place and food was pretty good. I had the ahi burger and it was really good. Would give 5 stars but having to go upstairs for the restroom was weird. Food 5 stars -1 star for the layout no fault 9f the restaurant.

I've been going back every week. I'm from alabama and I love love the cheese lover hamburger. It's so good. They do need more servers when it's busy but it's clean and friendly and really good. Going back today. ;)

Get a classic burger, or go wild with something like bulgogi. It's all good eatin'!

Burgers got a lot smaller since I've been here last. Quality is still there. But quantity has gotten smaller. Try the spicy cowboy !

Dont get the Ramen! They use instant ramen and add veggies. The burgers looked good though.

The burgers are in the range of okay/good but not great for the price. But if you're in the area and want to sit down and have burger with decent ambiance, try it out after looking at the menu.

This tasty lunch and dinner Place started as a burger place. 5 years ago it was bought by a Korean family and added many very tasty and delicious dishes. My wife and I really enjoy it and I highly recommend you give it a try. Pretty reasonable and the people are really nice

Fresh ingredients! My go to Portabella mushroom burger, gluten free bun and sauteed to perfection.

We ate here on 4th of July since every other place was closed. Burgers are quite delicious and variety is really good . Also, they have Korean food which is super fulfilling as well. Overall I recommend this place. I added the receipt for 3 people.

Unfortunately, not very good. Fries soggy and needed more salt. Burger just ok. A bit pricey for the quality delivered.

Pretty good food, wide selection (from vegan to burgers-&-fries), reasonable prices. Comfy environment, good service. A great neighborhood joint, a place to take friends when you want to have a good talk, a place to bring a book while you have lunch. And the best Arnold Palmers in Oakland.

Good Burgers for a solid price, The beyond burger is worth a try as it's a really interesting experience. They also have some great dishes that aren't burger centric.

Burger satisfaction in a Montclair institution. Supporting some traditional, some exotic burger toppings, you will find what your looking for here in a cool retreat. Excellent French fries of many shapes and styles, beer on tap, it's easy to see why Flippers has had staying power.

Burger was not cooked as ordered. First, order was taken away by server before 1st bite ... wrong table. Fries good. Onion rings overcooked. Seems the restaurant is conserving on cost. Mayonnaise was served in a small plastic container and my order was "in service" not "take out". For $20+ you'd expect more.

Yes! It's the "impossible" burger. If you didn't know it you would definitively think it is meat. Also, serves other gourmet burger and salads along with other menu items. This is a quaint place that will you will love.

Seriously surprised by all the negative reviews. We don't have a lot of good restaurants in the village, but if you're in the mood for a burger and fries, and maybe a milkshake if it's been that kind of day, then flippers is great! Their burgers are big and juicy (ask for it cooked medium rare) and they give you lots of gourmet burger options. Their curly fries and onion rings are hard to beat and their chocolate milkshakes are rich and thick. Service typically does leave something to be desired, but for those who complain about atmosphere.... it's a burger joint.....simple, but clean.

The best Salmon and Crab Cake burger in town. Every item on the menu is fresh and tasty!!
